And, our patented thinning algorithm assures the thinnest lens possible for a fashionable appearance.  Thin-Tech offers a significant reduction of lens center and edge thickness, thereby reducing overall weight. Slow the effects of premature aging in and around the eyes!

Radiation from the sun consists of 5-7% UV, 39-42% visible light, and 54% IR- which is heat. IR rays increase dehydration in the skin and eyes, contribute to eye fatigue, and can damage collagen around the eyes resulting in premature or worsening wrinkles around the eyes. Additionally, this heat may contribute to retinal or lens damage, which can lead to cataracts and AMD. While sunglasses may help, we often find ourselves outdoors without sunglasses. Similarly, sitting at a computer or monitor for long periods of time on a daily basis can have a detrimental effect in and around the eyes. With 3 times the protection of other lenses, Proguard provides complete protection from all the sun’s damaging rays, LED lights, digital screens, and more! Comfortable Photochromic Concentration:
Mystik transmits ~95% of light when clear, and ~40% of light after activation.

Immediate Photochromic Reactivity:
Mystik quickly responds to varying light conditions anytime, anywhere by activating up to 60% color density.
Mystik becomes 50% clearer within 30-60 SECONDS and returns to its normal clear state in around 5 minutes.

Mystik blocks 100% of UV400, and has effective blue light protection. This new technology from Japan allows Mystik to quickly darken to remove outdoor glare from bright sunlight, and even more quickly fade to clear to avoid an awkward appearance indoors.

Safety & Comfort For Your Eyes

Solidar 420 IR lenses are manufactured by Solidar using proprietary methods. The lenses block harmful near infrared (NIR) rays along with UV rays and blue light while maintaining true color perception. Blocking these types of rays also helps prevent premature aging around the eyes.

Emitted infrared rays are converted into heat when it is on your skin and eyes. You can feel a heat sensation even though you cannot see these rays. This ocular temperature rise and accumulation of heat have a negative and possible harmful effect on the following: cataracts, lenticular opacity, early presbyopia, retinal damage, corneal damage etc.

The outstanding performance of the Solidar Ultra has been validated by NSL Analytical Testing Lab, the most respected independent testing lab in the optical industry.

NSL performed the following 4 key tests recommended by the Vision Council of America. The results for Solidar Ultra are outstanding:

  1. Crazing test: Perfect score no crazing
  2. Delamination test: Perfect score no delamination
  3. Crosshatch area test: Perfect score no peeling
  4. Contact Angle for super hydrophobic top-coat for ease of cleaning:
    • Superior score of 116
    • No change in contact angle score after 5,000 rubbing cycle test, yielded a Superior Performance score of 116
    • After a 10,000 rubbing cycle test, a superior contact angle score of 109.8 is maintained.

Solidar Blue provides protection from harmful blue light emitted from many electronics and lighting. Similar to other brands, but at a much more reasonable price.

Specialty Edging

Using our state-of-the-art edging equipment, no edging job is too hard or too time intensive for our experts.

Wrap frames and designer frames require the special lenses and skilled workmanship in which we specialize. Frame styles that can be edged include plastic, zyl, metal, rimless, drill, wraps, step-back, incline bevels, square bevels, and interchangeable styles. No edging job is undo-able for our expert craftsmen. You can be assured of a quality fit for all shapes and sizes of lenses.

Specialty and Low Vision

Doing the impossible? Yeah, we do that… everyday!

Even though a majority of ECPs recommend specialty lenses and coatings to patients, there is no consensus about what “specialty” means in eyeglass lenses. Generally in the optical industry, a “specialty” lens is any lens that is prescribed for a specific purpose rather than general use. Computer lenses, digital device lenses, reading lenses, driving lenses, sports lenses (golf, shooting, boating), sports safety lenses, or occupational lenses all fall in this category.

Most labs consider “specialty” to be lenses that fall outside the realm of standard processing. This includes high Rx, prism, slabs, wraps, custom drill mounts, antique frames, and other types of “manual” jobs. This type of work requires more attention, more hands-on work, and many times special equipment.

Solidar is trusted by many other labs and manufacturers to provide services for all of these “specialty” jobs. We continually expand our capabilities to ensure timely service and excellent products. This means we stay up-to-date on the latest in digital processes, and continue the practices of the “old school”.
